One of New England’s most recognized restaurants has changed hands with an interesting “Back To The Future” twist. The Tamarack Drive In Restaurant on Route 3 has changed hands and is now heading in a new direction. The Tamarack was established in 1962 and in 1963 George Clayton became the head fryer cook, for 5 years, establishing the restaurants reputation as having the best fried seafood and onion rings in the Lakes Region. Customers from all over New England came for his delicious fried clams and onion rings. Mike Clayton arrived next in 1966 for 2 years.
Jim, the third brother was a Chef at the former B Mae Denny’s Restaurant in Gilford. As a team, Jim & George are taking the Tamarack “Back To The Future." Jim, and George say the Tamarack will once again be serving the fine quality food that made it one of the Lakes Region's most popular eating spots. In the near future they will be introducing some exciting new menu items that will further complement this great restaurant and intend to improve the quality of many existing items already on the menu.
You won’t want to miss out on the new ice cream items they are bringing “back to the future."
